This page is plain language. It is not a legal contract. It explains how we handle information in the referral process.
What we collect
We collect what a referral needs. No more.
That can include your name. It can include a phone number or email you give us to pass on. It can include your city and property address if a visit is required. It can include a short description of the deck work.
We do not ask homeowners for payment. So we do not collect card details for a referral. Do not send them to us.
A call may be recorded for quality and record keeping where the law allows. The provider you speak to will have its own practice.
Why we use it
We use your information for one purpose. To connect you to a local provider for the work you named.
We may also use it to reply to a question you sent. We may use counts of requests by city to plan which city pages to publish next. Those counts do not need your name.
Who we share it with
We share referral details with the provider we connect you to. The provider needs them to call you back, visit and quote.
Providers are independent. They are not part of DeckNear. Their handling of your information is their responsibility. Ask them direct questions if that matters to you.
We may share information when the law requires it. We may share it with service firms that help run the phone or website systems, only as needed for that work.
Cookies and site use
A static website can run with few tools. If analytics or other site tools are added later, this page should be updated to name them in plain words. You can use browser settings to block cookies on any site.
We do not use this site to collect information about children. Deck services are for homeowners who can enter a building agreement.
How long we keep it
We should keep referral records only as long as they serve a clear purpose. That includes handling a query, meeting legal duties and keeping basic business records. When a record is no longer needed, it should be removed or stripped of names.
If you want a record corrected, tell us what is wrong. Short, exact requests are easier to act on.
Your choices
You can choose not to use the referral service. You can stop a referral before it is passed on by telling us at once. After a referral has been passed on, you will also need to tell the provider to stop contact.
You can ask what record we hold about your request. Use the contact page and give your city and the date you reached out.
Changes to this page
If this practice changes, the page should change too. The last_verified date in the file header shows when this version was checked. Material changes should not be hidden in small print.
Frequently asked questions
What information does DeckNear collect for a referral?
We collect the basics needed to make a referral. Your name and a way to reach you. Your city and the address of the property if a site visit is needed. A short note on the deck work you want. We do not need card details, bank details or identity papers to make a referral.
Who receives my information?
We share referral details with the independent local provider we connect you to, so they can contact you and quote the job. That provider is a separate business with its own privacy practice. Ask the provider how they store and use your details before you agree to a visit or sign any agreement with them.
Does DeckNear sell my information to many firms?
Our model is a referral to a local provider for the work you asked about. We do not describe DeckNear as a general data seller. If the way we share information changes in a material way, this page should be updated before the new practice starts, with the date of the change shown at the top of the page.
How can I ask for my information to be corrected or deleted?
Use the contact route on this site and state your city, the date you contacted us and what you want corrected or deleted. We will need enough detail to find the right record without asking for extra personal papers. Some records may need to be kept for a set period for legal or accounting reasons, and we will say so.
